Feedback

In this course, Deb and Ruth reflect on their personal experiences with feedback, discussing its importance and the challenges of delivering it effectively. Deb answers several of Ruth’s questions, including 'Is the skill of feedback only relevant for senior members of an organisation?' and 'What to do if feedback is negatively received?'.
Additionally, they delve into the theory of feedback, providing a brief explanation of Radical Candor and techniques for receiving feedback, along with top tips to keep in mind.
The course also includes activities that require you to pause the video, reflect on your own experiences, and apply the techniques discussed.

Hi, I'm Deb

I started working in Local Government nearly five years ago, first running large customer-facing operational services, and most recently moving into transformation.

I am currently the Programme Lead for Cambridge City Council's ambitious 'Our Cambridge' project, which aims to redesign the entire council and its services to deliver better outcomes for residents.

Previously, I worked in education across a number of roles in schools and the third sector, including as Director of Programmes for education charity Future First, and Director of Partnerships at the pioneering state school, School 21, in East London.

I am passionate about how great organisational culture can lead to efficient, high-quality delivery in the public sector.

In my free time, I like to do yoga, watch football, and spend time with my cat, Carra.
